Seeking veteran depth depth on their offensive line, the New York Giants today announced the signing of former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman John Jerry. Jerry, 28 next season, is a four-year veteran. He started every game the past two seasons for Miami at right guard, and also has experience at left tackle.

Chris Snee is the Giants' incumbent right guard (despite missing the last 13 games in 2013 because of hip and elbow injuries that required surgery). Left tackle Will Beatty is recovering from a broken leg suffered in the season finale on Dec. 29.

Jerry is one of the Dolphins players who was involved in the Jonathan Martin bullying scandal with the Dolphins, along with Dolphins' teammates Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey.

Jerry, 6-foot-5, 335 pounds, was a third-round draft choice by Miami in 2010. He had a -2.9 Pro Football Focus grade in (2013 (+6.8 pass blocking, -10.4 run blocking) and a -2.7 grade in 2012 (+3.8 in pass protection, -8.8 in run-blocking).
