Monday is St. Patrick's Day, and with the luck of the Irish and all that in the air, you might have figured that Gang Green, the New York Jets, would come out on top in their mano-a-mano slugfest with the New York Giants for the services of top-flight free-agent cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

You likely know by now, of course, that the Giants won that slugfest, signing Rodgers-Cromartie to a five-year, $35 million deal.

How are Jets' fans taking the news? Let's check in with the folks at SB Nation's Jets' web site, Gang Green Nation, to find out:

Uh oh. Here comes the panic. The New York Giants have reportedly signed Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to a five year deal worth $35M. The additional years are necessary so they can take the cap hit, because they wouldn't have space for a one or two year deal. Obviously, a lot of people are going to start freaking out about the New York Jets cornerback situation.

While Rodgers-Cromartie is a very good cornerback and was the best remaining, it's important not to pretend like he was Deion Sanders after one (very) good season. Currently, Antonio Cromartie is the best cornerback remaining on the market, so it's possible we see a reunion. It's also possible we see a trade or the team draft a cornerback with one of their (estimated) twelve picks, so I'm not quite ready to freak out yet.

There is also this, apparently:
