First, there was a report that wide receiver Hakeem Nicks had joined the Carolina Panthers. Then he hadn't. Now comes word that the soon-to-be ex-New York Giants wide receiver will visit the Indianapolis Colts on Friday.
WR Hakeem Nicks just told me, "I'm flying to Indy tonight. The plan is to meet with the Colts tomorrow."

The false report apparently came when Nicks' dad erroneously let out the word that Nicks was going home to join the Carolina Panthers. I guess we all have remember -- mom knows best. Dad? Maybe not so much.
Anyway, it looks like it won't be long before Nicks is officially no longer a Giant.
Let's look at a few other Giants' stories making news on Day 3 of NFL Free Agency.
Jacoby Jones and his 'epiphany'
The Giants were all set to host wide receiver/kick returner Jacoby Jones earlier this week when Jones had a change of heart, deciding to go back to the Baltimore Ravens.
"Honestly, when I was up in New York, I was walking around and I think I came to my senses really," Jones said today after signing a four-year contract with the Ravens that could be worth as much as $14 million. "It wasn’t about money. It was the fact that this is probably the one place that would let me be myself, the city, the state, the organization, the coaches. They knew I kind of don’t have it all up here [in the head]. There are some loose ends and they accept that."
OK, then.
Incidentally, after missing out on Jones the Giants have expressed interest in Carolina Panthers' kick returner/wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr.
Nothing new on Justin Tuck
The Giants and the star defensive end are still in a holding pattern. The most recent word was that Tuck met with the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday and was still there this morning. No updates since.
Odds 'N Ends
-- Fullback Henry Hynoski is visiting with the Detroit Lions.
-- The Chicago Bears are excited to have former Giants' safety Ryan Mundy.
-- The Houston Texans have re-signed Garrett Graham, taking another tight end off the market.
