Valentine's View: 'License Plate Guy' scooping the media. Seriously, though, we predicted Nicks to his hometown Panthers last summer. Everybody knew this was coming.

Valentine's View: Not the least bit surprising. I had predicted weeks ago that Ginn could be a potential Giants' free-agent target.

Valentine's View: The Giants are paying Beason like they expect premier performance. Will they get it?

Day 3 of 2014 NFL Free Agency is here. The first two days have, to say the least, been busy for the New York Giants. They have also been quite productive with the additions of guard Geoff Schwartz and running back Rashad Jennings, along with the re-signings of several key players from 2013 -- most notably middle linebacker Jon Beason.

What will Thursday bring? First and foremost, keep an eye on the Oakland Raiders. Defensive end Justin Tuck, cornerback Terrell Thomas and running back Andre Brown have all visited there and any, or all, could wind up signing in Oakland. Tuck is the most likely of the trio to return to the Giants.

Early tweets from Ralph Vacchiano of the Daily News indicate Giants' fans who want Tuck to return might not be happy with the end result.

What else can we look for from the Giants today? No free-agent visits are scheduled as of now -- that we know of. The Giants have shown their hand in a couple of areas, however.

Defensively, it is obvious they want to upgrade at cornerback. They have re-signed Trumaine McBride, checked in on Darrelle Revis and already hosted Tracy Porter for a free-agent visit. The search for veteran cornerbacks is likely to continue. After their aborted deal with linebacker O'Brien Schofield, perhaps outside linebacker is also in play. If they lose Tuck, perhaps defensive end as well.

Offensively, the signing of J.D. Walton does not mean the Giants won't continue to be in the center market. Tight end is another position yet to be addressed. After missing out on Jacoby Jones perhaps the Giants will also see what other kick returners are available.

Use this as your open thread for discussion.
