Well, this feels familiar. The New York Giants lead the Tennessee Titans, xx-xx, of halftime of Sunday's game in Tennessee. Can the Giants, losers of seven straight and grand inventors of unique and excruciating ways to lose football game, find a way to finish this one? The Giants, of ourse, blew a 21-0 lead last Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Use this as your second-half open thread as we all find out.
The Giants led this one, 17-0, before the first quarter was over. A Josh Brown field, goal, a 15-yard touchdown pass from Eli Manning to Odell Beckham and a 26-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown by Markus Kuhn got the Giants off to the quick start.
The Kuhn touchdown, which made it 17-0, was the Giants' first defensive score of the season. Rookie linebacker Devon Kennard cause the fumble with a hit on Tennessee quarterback Zach Mettenberger.
Brown added his second short field goal to make the score 20-0 Giants with 1:39 left in the half. A 36-yard Brown field goal with :07 left made it 23-0.
The first half was largely the Odell Beckham Show for the Giants on offense. Beckham caught nine passes for 117 yards and a touchdown, including a beautiful 50-yard catch to set up a touchdown. He also returned two punts for 37 yards and threw an incomplete pass, showing off his arm by heaving a ball 65 yards in the air toward Rueben Randle.
Manning completed 20-of-29 for 226 yards and one touchdown.
Tennessee's Ryan Succop missed a 42-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter.
Here, by the way, is Beckham warming up. Almost as much fun as the game itself.
