New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings made the trip to Nashville with the team on Saturday, and still hopes to play Sunday vs. the Tennessee Titans despite continuing to have "ankle discomfort."
As of yesterday, #Giants RB Rashad Jennings had ankle discomfort. But he stayed off it this week, hoping to play. Will know after testing it— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) December 7, 2014
Jennings injured the ankle during the second half of last Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is the giants' leading rusher this season with 598 yards on 154 carries (3.9 yards per carry). Andre Williams (2.9 yards per carry) struggled during three games Jennings missed earlier this season. He would start today if Jennings can't play.
Three Giants did not make the trip to Nashville. Linebacker Jacquian Williams (shoulder/concussion), offensive tackle James Brewer (concussion) and linebacker Mark Herzlich (concussion).
Because Herzlich and Williams will not play the Giants made a roster move Saturday. Linebacker Paul Hazel, just added to the practice squad on Tuesday, was signed to the 53-man roster. Defensive tackle Dominique Hamilton, just added to the roster from the practice squad Tuesday, was waived. Hazel played 13 games for the Cleveland Browns last season, including six games during which he received defensive snaps.
Stay tuned for the complete inactives about 90 minutes before kickoff.
