The New York Giants (3-9) try to avoid tying an ugly bit of history today when they face the Tennessee Titans (2-10) at LP Field in Nashville, TN. Losers of a seven straight, the Giants need to defeat the Titans to avoid tying the longest losing streak of the Tom Coughlin era, which was eight in 2004. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on FOX.

Can the Giants, one week after blowing a 21-0 lead against the previously 1-10 Jacksonville Jaguars, find a way to do that? It will depend largely on their ability to stop making crucial, inexplicable mistakes.

"I want to quit inventing ways to beat ourselves," Coughlin said this week.

The Giants have certainly come up with plenty of those this season. Can they finally, for the first time in two months, come up with a way to win a game?
