Giants vs. Eagles 2014, Week 17: One more game, and then it's decision-time

Giants end second straight losing season today.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants play their final game of the 2014 season today when they host the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium (1 p.m. ET/FOX). That's nice, and we of course will give you full post-game coverage. The important stuff, however, doesn't happen until the dust settles and the off-season begins.

Win or lose today, the Giants will end a second straight season with a losing record and a third straight without a playoff berth. It seems highly unlikely that Tom Coughlin, with one year left on his contract, would be forced out. It is possible, however, that defensive coordinator Perry Fewell will pay the price for the defense's failures.

No matter what happens it sounds like Giants fans are going to have to wait until Tuesday to hear from the organization's brain trust. The current schedule has players cleaning out their lockers and being accessible to media for the final time this season on Monday. Coughlin, GM Jerry Reese and co-owner John Mara are currently expected to meet the press on Tuesday.

Inactives

OK, so let the complaining begin. Rookie wide receiver Corey Washington is inactive today.

Let's just say I don't believe it is an accident that Washington is inactive today after the undrafted free agent went public this week with complaints about playing time.

The rest of the inactive list is as follows:

CB Jayron Hosley, LB Devon Kennard, OL Adam Gettis, OL Eric Herman, DT Dominique Hamilton, TE Jerome Cunningham.

Use this as your open thread.
