Monday Night Football: Saints vs. Bears - TV, Time, Odds, And More

Monday Night Football Open Thread

Derick E Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

Good evening New York Giants fans!

For once we won't have a topic talking about Odell Beckham. Except for just now. Instead, we're here to talk about the finale to week 15 of the 2014 NFL season.

This week's match-up is between the 5-8 Chicago Bears and the 5-8 New Orleans Saints. I'm sure it looked much better when the NFL was making the schedule up back in the spring. Though both teams have talented offenses, neither one has much on the defensive side of the ball, so it could come down to which ever team makes a stop.

However, there is quite a bit on the line tonight, and not just for the two teams involved. The Saints are, remarkably, playing for first place in the NFC South and a playoff berth.

At the same time, both of these teams are in a battle over draft position. A battle the 5-9 Giants are involved in as well. Should the Bears win, the Saints will jump the Giants in draft order, and take the 8th overall pick.

However, if the Saints win, the Giants will keep their current pick (8th), while they will go from a single-digit pick, to picking 21st as their division leader, and knocking the 5 - 8 - 1 Panthers out of the division lead.

In short: Giants fans, root for the Saints!

TV: ESPN (Jon Gruden and Mike Tirico commentating)

Time: 8:30 p.m. kickoff

Odds: New Orleans - 3.5

As usual, use this as your open thread and have a great evening everyone!
