Because of a high number of crippling injuries and poor performance by some players, there were several unfamiliar faces on the field for the New York Giants in their loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Let's review the snap counts and see who is emerging.

Defense

We will start here because there has been soooo much talk about who has, and has not, been playing on this side of the ball.

-- Damontre Moore played a career-high 43 snaps. With Mathias Kiwanuka out and Robert Ayers (34 snaps) suffering a pectoral injury Moore received heavy playing time. He had two passes defensed, a quarterback hit and a hurry, but produced only one assisted tackle.

-- Kerry Wynn made his NFL debut, playing 22 snaps. He had three tackles, a half-sack and a hurry.

-- Devon Kennard played 46 snaps. He had his first two NFL sacks and three tackles for loss.

-- Safety Stevie Brown has re-emerged as a key contributor, playing all 68 snaps. Quintin Demps played only 26 snaps.

-- Mike Harris, active for the first time in place of Jayron Hosley, played 22 snaps.

-- Cornerback Chykie Brown, a Baltimore Ravens reject awarded to the Giants off waiversa few weeks ago, continued his ascent. He played 55 snaps.

-- Rookie defensive tackle Jay Bromley played 16 snaps, a career-high for the third-round pick.
