Quotable
"We have eight games left, and I wouldn't be surprised if we win six or seven of them. That's just the mentality we have here, that when our backs are against the wall, we come out fighting and swinging. And that's always been what's gotten us back in it." -- Mathias Kiwanuka
Valentine's View: Kiwanuka is right that the Giants always USED TO do their best work with their backs against the wall. That was a a long time ago, though. The Giants haven't been very good for a while, and this is a vastly different team in terms of personnel than the championship Giants Kiwanuka remembers, and somehow believes he still sees. It's hard to believe Kiwanuka's words are any more than hollow hope.

How bad has the Giants' defense been? This bad:

Bad news for the Giants. Seattle Times Seahawks' beat writer Bob Condotta says the defending champs "look more like their normal selves" after winning two straight games.
Richard Sherman of the Seahawks "not surprised" he has yet to be flagged for illegal contact.
ESPN's Dan Graziano, from the Giants side, and Terry Blount, from the Seattle side, preview Sunday's game.
Ex-Giant Luke Petitgout got arrested earlier this week on sexual assault charges. Petitgout, though, apparently didn't learn much of anything from being behind bars. Petitgout reportedly violated a restraining order, while still in jail. Petitgout, obviously, is not a nice guy. There is never an acceptable reason for behaving like this. Never.
