Coughlin on Rolle's comments: 'Guys were playing hard'

Coughlin talks about Rolle, injuries, Seahawks.

The 'lack of passion' comments by New York Giants safety Antrel Rolle following the lopsided loss to the Indianapolis Colts have been a source of conversation ever since he began making them Monday night. Head coach Tom Coughlin was asked about Rolle's remarks on Wednesday.

"I think we played hard the other night. ... I know he is an emotional guy," Coughlin said. "It wasn't a rah, rah, rah situation on the sideline but guys were playing hard.''

Coughlin was also asked about the play of quarterback Eli Manning, and he praised the work of the 11-year veteran as he adapts to a new system and constantly-changing personnel around him.

"His play has given us a chance," Coughlin said.

Injury Update

Coughlin said that offensive lineman Weston Richburg has an ankle sprain and listed him as "day-to-day." Of course, we know that day-to-day can mean just about anything. ... Running back Rashad Jennings has begun to run straight ahead, per Coughlin, but it doesn't sound like he will be ready for Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. ... Cullen Jenkins (calf) may practice on a limited basis ... Punter Steve Weatherford has added a back problem to his ankle injury ... Mathias Kiwanuka is on the injury report with a knee issue.
