Justin Pugh will not play today for the New York Giants when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars (1 p.m. ET/FOX). Pugh warmed up Sunday morning in front of offensive line coach Pat Flaherty and team doctor Russell Warren, but has been declared inactive due to his quad injury. That means Geoff Schwartz will start again at right tackle.
The inactive list for the Giants also includes cornerback Jayron Hosley, offensive lineman Brandon Mosley, defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka (knee), defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins (quad), offensive lineman Adam Snyder (knee) and linebacker Jacquian Williams (shoulder/concussion).
Hosley's spot on the inactive list is a surprise. He has been starting in the slot since Trumaine McBride went down with an injury. The Giants will activate Mike Harris, signed off the Detroit Lions practice squad several weeks ago, and Harris will reportedly take over in the slot. Harris played 31 games, starting eight, for Jacksonville in 2012 and 2013.
Take the move as a referendum on Hosley's play if you wish.
