Nobody, apparently, does injuries the way the New York Giants do injuries. This week's opponent, the San Francisco 49ers, borrowed a most unwelcome page from the Giants' playbook today with the news that star linebacker Patrick Willis will undergo season-ending toe surgery.
Our friends at Niners Nation react to the news, as well as assess how the 49ers will get by without Willis and Navarro Bowman. It won't the 49ers, of course, that the league-imposed suspension of star pass rusher Aldon Smith is now over.
The Giants will, of course, place their 11th player on injured reserve this week when running back Michael Cox (fractured leg) lands on the list. Will the Giants use that roster spot to activate offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz, or will they add another running back to the roster?
We will find out later in the week. Be sure to stay glued to BBV as we get you ready for Sunday-s Giants-49ers kickoff.
