When the New York Giants were in trouble Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, trailing, 20-10 in the third quarter, the bubble wrap came off and the Giants asked rookies Odell Beckham Jr. and Andre Williams to help them rally. The young players responded, and the Giants did rally, coming back for a critical 30-20 victory Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

The win pushed the Giants to 3-2 and sets up a huge NFC showdown with the 4-1 Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. The Giants are now above the .500 mark for the first time since the 2012 season.

The Giants entered the second half trailing, 13-10. [First-half summary]

When Antone Smith took a third-down swing pass from Ryan, broke a poor tackling effort from Antrel Rolle and went 74 yards for a score with 5:37 left in the third quarter the Giants were behind, 20-10. And, at that point, officially in trouble.

"Proud of the team today," said quarterback Eli Manning. "Got down 10 in the third quarter and we responded."

Indeed they did.

The Giants got back within 20-17 with a nine-play, 81-yard drive capped by a 3-yard Williams touchdown run with 2:05 left in the third quarter. That drive was highlighted by a pair of incomplete deep balls to Beckham, one of which resulted in a 26-yard pass interference penalty on Atlanta's Robert Alford to put the Giants in Atlanta territory at the 45-yard line. Beckham later caught an 8-yard pass on the drive. Williams caught a 14-yard pass and had an 11-yard run on the drive.

The Giants took a 24-20 lead with 10:02 to play on a beautiful 15-yard pass from Manning to Beckham, who made a leaping grab of Manning's back-shoulder throw for the score. That capped an 11-play, 64-yard drive that took 5:22.

Josh Brown kicked a 50-yard field goal with 5:01 left to push the Giants lead to 27-20.

After the Giants forced Atlanta to turn the ball over on downs, Brown kicked a 26-yard field to make the score 30-20 with 2:08 remaining.

Beckham finished with four catches for 44 yards. Rueben Randle also caught four passes. Preston Parker caught three passes for 61 yards. Tight end Larry Donnell was held without a catch.

Jennings carried 10 times for 55 yards before injuring his knee. Williams ended up with 20 carries for 65 yards.

Manning finished 19-of-30 for 200 yards and two touchdowns.

Injuries

The Giants lost linebacker Spencer Paysinger in the first half with a hamstring injury. Rashad Jennings went out in the third quarter with a knee sprain.
