The New York Giants aren't playing football today. We know, though, that you will be watching. So, here is a little rooting guide to today's action for you.

Games You Need To Care About

(and who you should be rooting for)

Detroit Lions (5-2) at Atlanta Falcons (2-5) -- Hey, this one is on at 9: 30 a.m. (FOX) thanks to the game being held in London. Here is your built-in excuse to tell the missus that you can't go to church on Sunday morning. Root For: The Lions, Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears are all in the Giants' way right now. Gotta root for the Falcons to pull an upset across the pond.

Seattle Seahawks (3-3) at Carolina Panthers (3-3-1) -- It's impossible not to root against the Seahawks, even though both of these teams are in the wild-card hunt.

Chicago Bears (3-4) at New England Patriots (5-2) -- To help the Giants, the Bears need to fall off the map. The Lions and Packers are already 5-2 in the NFC North. Root For: It isn't easy to do, but you have to hope the Pats can help the Giants out here

Philadelphia Eagles (5-1) at Arizona Cardinals (5-1) -- You know the right thing to do here. Regardless of the standings, you root for the Cardinals.

Green Bay Packers (5-2) at New Orleans Saints (2-4) -- It probably helps the Giants more if the Saints fall out of the playoff picture than anything. Root For: Aaron Rodgers and the Pack.

Washington Redskins (205) at Dallas Cowboys (6-1) (Monday night) -- It isn't going to happen, but it sure would be fun tos ee Colt McCoy and the Redskins trounce the Cowboys.

At Least These Are Interesting

(but they make no difference to the Giants)

Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals -- What is going on with the reeling Bengals?

St. Louis Rams at Kansas City Chiefs -- Is Austin Davis the real deal?

Indianapolis Colts at Pittsburgh Steelers -- Hey, Pittsburgh, please don't make the Colts mad the week before they play the Giants.

Why Watch, Or Care?

(don't watch, and don't care)

Miami Dolphins at Jacksonville Jaguars -- Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Buffalo Bills at New York Jets -- The only interesting thing here, of couse, is the debut of Percy Harvin with the Jets.

Minnesota Vikings at Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- See Dolphins-Jaguars.

Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans -- Is the debut of Zach Mettenberger really that exciting?

Oakland Raiders at Cleveland Browns -- Maybe Johnny Manziel gets in at garbage time.
