Rich Schultz

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin says his Giants and the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles, who meet in a much-anticipated showdown Sunday night "could play this one right out there in this parking lot as far as I'm concerned."

The Giants (3-2) and Eagles (4-1) won't play in a parking lot. They will play in Philadelphia's house, Lincoln Financial Field, in front of a Sunday Night Football national audience. If the game matches the trash talk that filled the week leading up to it, viewers should be in for one heckuva show.

What It Means

For the Giants this is an opportunity to stamp themselves as legitimate contenders to knock the Eagles off their perch as defending NFC East champions. A New York victory combined with a Dallas Cowboys loss to the Seattle Seahawks, should that happen Sunday, would forge a three-way tie atop the NFC East.

It also means an end to the week-long trash talk between the teams that has polluted the Inter-Google.

Eli Manning has eight touchdown passes, one interception and a 115.2 passer rating during the Giants' three-game winning streak ... The Eagles have seven non-offensive touchdowns -- two blocked punts returned for scores, a punt return, a kickoff return, an interception return and two fumble recoveries ... The Giants are tied for fourth in the NFL with 41 points off 10 takeaways ... Rookies Andre Williams and Odell Beckham Jr. were the first Giants rookies to score touchdowns by rushing and receiving, respectively, in the same game since George Adams and Mark Bavaro did it twice in 1985 ... The Giants defense is third in the NFL in opponents third-down conversion rate, allowing only 20 conversion is 61 attempts *32.8 percent ).
