Giants' Coaching Rumors: Could Quinn, Ryan be next to go?

Offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride is out, having retired from the New York Giants. Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell is headed for an interview with the Washington Redskins for their vacant head-coaching job.

What will be the next domino to fall on the Giants' coaching staff? Will there, in fact, be any more dominoes?

Friday came and went without any changes having been announced, but reports from a variety of beat writers indicated that there are a few clear signals coming from team headquarters at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center.

The warmest seats in the house appear to belong to quarterbacks coach Sean Ryan and special teams coach Tom Quinn. Ebenezer Samuel of the Daily News tweeted that both "could have their heads on chopping block next." Ralph Vacchiano of the Daily News reported that "Two sources said their jobs were believed to be in jeopardy, and a final decision on their fate could come as early as Monday."

If the Giants were to let Quinn, the special teams coordinator, go assistant special teams coordinator Larry Izzo would seem like a logical replacement. He is an up-and-coming young coach.

How the Giants handle the quarterbacks coach position would seem to be tied to whoever becomes offensive coordinator. Some offensive coordinators double as quarterbacks coach, so the coordinator decision could impact Ryan's future.

There still, however, may be a Gilbride to kick around on the Giants' coaching staff next season. Multiple reports indicated that Kevin Gilbride Jr., wide receivers coach and son of the retired offensive coordinator, appears to be staying.
