The New York Giants are one of eight NFL teams who could be forced to appear on HBO's 'Hard Knocks' if no NFL team volunteers to do the show. Can you imagine that? Tom Coughlin's head might explode if the league forced him to put up with being followed around everywhere by HBO cameras during training camp.

Courtesy of SB Nation's Buffalo Rumblings, here are the rules under which a team can be required to be on the shows:

1. The team has a returning head coach.
2. The team hasn't made the playoffs in the last two seasons.
3. The team hasn't been on the show in the last 10 years.

The Giants, of course, fit all three categories.

Here are the other seven teams who could be forced to appear:

Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, St. Louis Rams, Oakland Raiders, Chicago Bears.

When you look at that list you have to think the Giants would rank pretty highly among teams the league would want featured on the show. You know folks in the league office are well aware the Giants don't want anything to do with the show. Coughlin is the league's oldest coach, and his quirks make him a coach HBO would love to follow around. The clock is ticking on Coughlin's career, and this might be the only chance 'Hard Knocks' gets to take an inside look at how he runs the Giants.

What do you think, Gints' fans? Would you like to see the team on 'Hard Knocks?'
