The 2014 East-West Shrine Game, the first of the main all-star showcase games for 2014 NFL Draft hopefuls, will be held Saturday. The game will be played at 4 p.m. ET at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. It will be broadcast on NFL Network.
SB Nation's Mocking The Draft has been previewing the game all week, including posting daily practice reports.
Dan Kadar of Mocking The Draft posted a look at players to watch earlier this week. Give that a read as several of those players man positions where the New York Giants could use some help.
One of the intriguing things during these showcase games is to find out which players teams have talked to. That often turns out to be meaningless. It is, however, noteworthy. Walter Football has been following the team interviews this week, and here are the players they have been able to identify as having met with the Giants.
-- Eastern Illinois quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
-- South Dakota linebacker Tyler Starr.
