2014 Gator Bowl, Nebraska vs. Georgia: NFL Draft Prospect Watch

NFL Draft prospects to watch during today's Gator Bowl.

Eric Francis

The Gator Bowl features big-time college football programs in the Georgia Bulldogs and Nebraska Cornhuskers. There are a number of big-time players from both schools in the NFL currently like Prince Amukamara and Ndamukong Suh over in Detroit from Nebraska and A.J. Green among others from Georgia. Today's game doesn't feature any prospects who are blue chip prospects like those guys were, but there are some guys who will play in the NFL.

Georgia

Georgia tight end Arthur Lynch is a top five tight end in this draft class and is a nice all around tight end. He's not the type of athlete even an Adrien Robinson is, but he's already a good in line blocker, runs good routes, and has very reliable hands. He has size at 6-foot-5, 260 pounds and should develop into a starting tight end in the NFL, though he's likely more Scott Chandler than Jimmy Graham.

Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray is one of the most productive quarterbacks in college football history (he holds the record for most passing yards in the sec). He, is however, a bit on the smallish side and has other limitations which will make him more of a late day two or early day three prospect.

The Bulldogs have a few linemen to watch out for offensive who could hear their name called, though they are nothing special. Guards Chris Burnette and Dallas Lee are day three/UDFA prospects as well as tackle Kenarious Gates. Defensive tackle Garrison Smith looks like a day three prospect as well.

Nebraska

Nebraska's best prospect is once again a cornerback: Stanley Jean-Baptiste. Baptiste is an intriguing prospect because he has terrific size at 6-2, 215 pounds. He's a converted wide receiver prospect so he has a lot to still learn in terms of the nuances of the position, but he has terrific size, and enough speed that he could be a diamond in the rough. Throw in the fact that you know he can make plays on the football as a former wide receiver and you have a unique prospect. He's the kind of cornerback Seattle has made popular.

There's nothing else special on Nebraska some late round UDFA types like OL Spencer Long, WR Quincy Enunwa (another guy with size at 6-2, 220 pounds), and cornerback Ciante Evans.
