Many New York Giants' fans have been dreaming for months now about North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron catching passes for the Giants. Ebron says he has been dreaming about that scenario "since I was a kid."

"My whole family loves the idea of it, but then again we don't care where we go," Ebron, a Newark, N.J. native,  said during an interview Wednesday as part of a promotional campaign for Gillette Pressure Points. "It is what it is. There's nothing that we can control about this process."

Ebron, of course, is often the choice for the Giants with the 12th overall pick of the first round in mock drafts around the Internet. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Ebron would be the first tight end chosen in the first round by the Giants since Jeremy Shockey if that happens -- and Ebron has made it clear in the past that Shockey is his favorite all-time Giant.

The tight end Ebron is most often compared to, however, is not Shockey. It is Vernon Davis of the San Francisco 49ers, and it is a comparison Ebron has made himself.

"We're both big, strong, fast creatures," Ebron said. "My play and my style of game is basically the same as his."

Ebron has never been to an NFL game, let alone a Giants' game.

"The first-ever live NFL game I'll go to is one I'll be in ... weird," Ebron said. "I just never had the money to do it, or the time."

Ebron was making the media rounds on Tuesday to promote Gillette, and said he is enjoying the pre-draft process.

"I pretty much expected the worst, hoped it would be better. I thought there was going to be a lot more pressure, a lot more stress. It's cool -- it's a once in a lifetime thing and all I'm doing is trying to enjoy it and have fun with it," Ebron said.
