At the risk of going overboard with the mock draft discussion here at Big Blue View, we have to point out that SB Nation's Mocking The Draft is out with a new mock draft today, this one by Matthew Fairburn. His selection for the New York Giants? Fairburn went with a cornerback, but not a player we recall seeing mocked to the Giants previously. He gave the Giants Ohio State's Bradley Roby.
Fairburn explains:
Must Reads
Bradley Roby had an inconsistent junior season and has fallen a bit in most mock drafts as a result. He's still an explosive athlete, and that's likely to show up when he runs through drills at the NFL Scouting Combine. The Giants have been known to take the most talented players even if they aren't yet the most refined. Roby fits that description and fills a position of need for New York.
Roby is a player we have not yet profiled here at Big Blue View. He is No. 32 overall on the Mocking The Draft Big Board, and ranked third by MTD among draft-eligible cornerbacks. Roby is not ranked on the Big Blue View Big Board.
Walter Football offers an enthusiastic scouting report about the 5-foot-11, 192-pound Roby, calling him a "special athlete" who "has the tenacious attitude and style of play to be a No. 1 cornerback responsible for the other team's best receiver."
