If 0-4 wasn't bad enough, now we can add injury to insult. The New York Giants secondary is suffering from a rash of injuries. Aaron Ross, who started his second consecutive game at left cornerback in place of Corey Webster (hip), left the game with a back injury and was unable to return. Trumaine McBride came in to spell Ross.
The same goes for second-year corner Jayron Hosley, who suffered a hamstring injury.
After the game the team offered no update to the severity of the injuries and/or if either of the two corners were expected to miss any time, but being unable to get back into the game is usually a bad sign. Then again, why risk further injury in a blowout loss?
Spotted in a walking boot after the loss was linebacker Mark Herzlich. The Giants' leading tackler Sunday, Herzlich had an X-ray on his right foot and was found to have a toe injury. X-rays came back negative, but he'll undergo further testing on Monday.
In the fourth quarter, Jason Pierre-Paul got his knee chopped and subsequently limped off of the field. JPP, months removed from back surgery, was diagnosed with a knee contusion. He was probable to return but did not. After the game, Pierre-Paul did not want to speak with the media.
Justin Tuck left the game with a neck injury but said he was fine after the game. Apparently, Tuck was more upset with the loss than he was injured.
