Giants' Injury News: Victor Cruz returns to practice

Cruz returns to practice as Giants prep for Dallas Cowboys.

New York Giants' wide receiver Victor Cruz, sidelined with a heel contusion suffered in preseason vs. the New York Jets, returned to practice Monday at Quest Diagnostics Training Center, according to multiple reports. Cruz apparently took about half the snaps in Monday's practice.

"My major concern was coming out of those hard-breaking routes, curl routes, long hard-breaking routes things like that. So I’m excited about it. I’m still going to go in there and ice down, stay ahead of schedule," Cruz told reporters following practice.

Cruz also told reporters that he was "more encouraged about Week 1" vs. the Dallas Cowboys now that he has gotten back on the field.

Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul and fullback Henry Hynoski also reportedly participated in practice. Pierre-Paul (back surgery) and Hynoksi (knee surgery) did not play in preseason. Pierre-Paul was uncertain he would play Sunday, and Hynoski told reporters that his availability was up to the trainers.

Tight end Adrien Robinson, who suffered a foot injury in the preseason finale against the New England Patriots, did not practice. There is no timeframe for his return.
