The season has not started the way the New York Giants hoped it would. At 0-2, the odds are already heavily stacked against the Giants making the playoffs, as only 11.6 percent of teams starting 0-2 since 1990 have made the playoffs.
The Giants caught a break Sunday as the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins all lost. The Cowboys and Eagles are 1-1, the defending NFC East champion Redskins 0-2.
What are the players saying about being 0-2? Here is some of the post-game locker room reaction.
"There's only one way to go," said offensive lineman Kevin Boothe. "We have a mentally tough team, so we'll bounce back."
"We've gotta make sure that when we walk into that building tomorrow that we are ready to listen, to pay attention, to take the criticism," said defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka.
"We just keep working, that's the only thing I know how to do" said rookie offensive tackle Justin Pugh. "We let a good opportunity go today."
"This team doesn't stop fighting, it's a good locker room, we've got a lot of guys that have won a lot of games," said Brandon Myers, in his first year with the Giants after spending four years with the Oakland Raiders. "Everybody knows the thing to do is come back to work and keep grinding, having a positive attitude, staying together."
Chris Snee said the Giants' team that came back from 0-2 to win the Super Bowl in 2007 was "a different team."
"We'll have to see what kind of team we have, what kind of fight we have," Snee said. "The important thing is to thick-skinned tomorrow, take a hard look at the tape and realize we have a tough Carolina team next week."
Running back David Wilson said the Giants are "most definitely" better than their 0-2 record.
"We've got a lot of playmakers on this team, a lot of guys that are used to winning, so we're going back to practice and we're going to get this thing back on the right path," Wilson said.
"I think we'll bounce back," said quarterback Eli Manning. "We just have to play better. I'm not trying to make comparisons to years obviously ... You can look at it the same, but we have to find a way to play better. Better offense, better defense. I thought the defense played really well that last two weeks, so we have to help them out by scoring some more points and putting the opposing offense in a bind."
"We're 0-2 right now, but that doesn't really matter. What really matters is the next game we're playing, which is Carolina. We've got to go there and get a win," said Jason Pierre-Paul. "We're way better than 0-2 but, you know, it is what it is. The record is 0-2. We've just got to get back on track."
