The Giants have to trim their roster to 75 players on Tuesday.

NFL teams have to trim their preseason rosters from 90 players to 75 by 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday. That makes Saturday night's preseason game against the New York Jets critical for many players on he New York Giants' current 90-man roster.

I will make a cut down prediction on Tuesday morning. For now, let's look at some of the guys who might be in jeopardy on Tuesday.

Quarterback

The Giants have four on the roster and will keep, at most, three. Here at Big Blue View, we've written about the quarterback situation several times. Curtis Painter will play Saturday night, getting his opportunity to prove he should stick around. If Painter plays poorly, Tuesday could be a bad day for him.

Running Back

Rookie Michael Cox is clearly ahead of both Da'Rel Scott and Ryan Torain in the competition for the third running back spot. Could Scott or Torain be out on Tuesday? Fullback Ben Guidugli might also be in his final days with the Giants.

Wide Receiver

Kevin Hardy got some attention from the media this week in the wake of Victor Cruz's injury. The real roster battle here might be between Ramses Barden and Jerrel Jernigan. This week, Jernigan gets the upper hand since he practiced all week while Barden missed time with a knee injury. Guys like Julian Talley, Marcus Harris and Terrell Sinkfield will need to show something to last past Tuesday.

Tight End

The Giants have Brandon Myers, Adrien Robinson, Bear Pascoe and Larry Donnell. The "bubble" guy of the group is Donnell, who has given himself a chance to make the roster but still has work to do. This situation is now complicated by the return of fullback Henry Hynoski. Jamie Childers and Chris Clement had better be hoping their phones don't ring on Tuesday.

Offensive Line

Guys like Stephen Goodin, Michael Jasper, Bryant Browning, Matt McCants and newly-signed Austin Holtz should be nervous on Tuesday. I can't figure out how rookie seventh-round pick Eric Herman makes the roster, but he should survive Tuesday.

Defensive Line

There are still things to be settled here. In terms of Tuesday's cuts, defensive end Matt Broha might be in jeopardy. He is clearly behind Adrian Tracy, Justin Trattou and Adewale Ojomo right now. At defensive tackle, veteran Frank Okam is a player to look for. Whether or not Marvin Austin makes the team probably comes right down to final cuts and he should be safe on Tuesday.

Linebacker

The only players who seem like they might be in jeopardy on Tuesday are the youngsters, Etienne Sabino and Jake Muasau.

Defensive Back

I don't know how undrafted free agent safety Alonzo Tweedy makes the roster and he seems like a guy who could be gone after Tuesday. Guys like Junior Mertile and Laron Scott might also be in jeopardy.
