The New York Giants have taken fullback Henry Hynoski off the physically unable to perform list, according to ESPN's Adam Shefter.
Last week, Hynoski said he was "making good progress" in his recovery from offseason knee surgery, beginning to get out onto the practice field and participate in drills.
Throughout the rehabilitation process, Hynoski has pinpointed the Giants' season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 8 his target for a return.
Removing Hynoski from the PUP list is a major step in the right direction for the fullback. Players who begin the regular season on the PUP list are not eligible to return to action until after Week 6, when they can start to practice with the team.
With Hynoski now off the PUP list, he will be eligible to begin practicing with his teammates -- when ready -- and would be eligible to start Week 1.
