The diagnosis is in: New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz suffered a heel contusion during Sunday night's preseason bout with the Indianapolis Colts. Cruz is in a walking boot and the receiver is using crutches, according to multiple reports.
"Once (the) swelling goes down, I think I'll be OK," Cruz told NFL.com's Kimberly Jones.
Though Cruz will miss likely miss the remainder of the preseason, he expects to be ready for the regular season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 8. The MRI revealed there was no tear.
Right now, the receiver proclaimed himself "day-to-day."
Cruz also confirmed when he injured his heel -- when he got tied up with a Colts defensive back during the early pass interference call.
