Preseason Power Rankings: Where the Giants stand

A look at how the Giants are perceived in preseason power rankings.

The Star-Ledger-USA TODAY Sports

As the New York Giants prepare for their first preseason game Saturday night vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers, let's take a look at where the Giants place in a couple of recently released sets of preseason power rankings.

Joe Fortenbaugh of the National Football Post places the Giants 10th in his preseason power rankings. He writes:

Nobody’s talking about them and that’s exactly how head coach Tom Coughlin and company like it. With Philadelphia in early turmoil, Robert Griffin III coming back from a serious knee injury and Dallas being, well, Dallas, the Giants have a good shot to reclaim the NFC East and qualify for the playoffs, which is where this franchise does its finest work.

The APPro32, a national panel of 11 voters, has placed the Giants 12th.

The Giants are the top-ranked NFC East team in both polls. Fortenbaugh has the Washington Redskins 13th, as does the APPro32 poll.

Any thoughts on these, Giants' fans?
