The New York Giants report for 2013 training camp Friday at the newly-named Quest Diagnostics Training Center. Here is your Big Blue View training camp primer, including the schedule, fan information and links to much of what we have written leading up to camp.

The Giants come off a 9-7 season during which they missed the playoffs. With the Super Bowl being held at MetLife Stadium in February, the first cold-weather outdoor Super Bowl, the heat is on the Giants to make a run at becoming the first team to get to -- and win -- the Super Bowl in their home stadium. Can they do it? We begin finding out when practice opens Saturday afternoon.

Fan Guidelines For Camp

Practice sessions will be open to the public throughout training camp (July 27-Aug. 21). Limited seating is provided alongside the practice fields. Restroom facilities concession stands and a free kid's activity area will also be available. The Giants will host a special autograph day on Sunday, July 28 when the entire team will sign autographs for fans after practice. A different position group of Giants players will sign autographs for fans each other day following practice. PLEASE NOTE: In the event of inclement weather, (including rain, thunderstorms and extreme heat) practices will be moved indoors and will be closed to the public.

How Camp Works

These guidelines are from the NFL Players Association.

  • Day 1 (Friday, July 26) -- Players report for physicals and testing (no on-field activities except running and conditioning.
  • Day 2 -- No pads and no contact.
  • Day 3 -- No pads and no contact.
  • Day 4 thru end of camp -- One padded practice of no longer than three (3) hours and one walk-through.
  • Players get a mandatory off day every seven (7) days, and at least five (5) off days during camp.
  • Veterans receive $1,700 per week and rookies receive $925 per week during camp.
