New York Giants ink 2013 draft picks Justin Pugh and Ryan Nassib

USA TODAY Sports

The New York Giants signed offensive tackle Justin Pugh and quarterback Ryan Nassib to contracts, the team announced Thursday evening, and both draft picks are expected to attend the beginning of training camp Friday.

Pugh, the team's first-round selection, and Nassib, drafted in the fourth round, both attended college at Syracuse.

Pugh started all 34 games for the Orange at left tackle, blocking for a 1,000-yard rusher in each of his three seasons. Pugh is expected to play right tackle with the Giants and compete for the starting job alongside the incumbent, David Diehl.

Nassib, who was whispered to be a consideration for teams in need of a quarterback in the first two rounds, fell to New York with the 110th pick. Nassib helped jumpstart the Syracuse offense, which ranked 94th in the nation out of 120 programs when he got the job, and finished as the 17th offense at the end of his career.

Nassib is vying with veteran backup David Carr to be Eli Manning's No. 2.
