There will be no holdout for New York Giants' first-round pick Justin Pugh. The offensive lineman and the Giants have agreed to terms just one day before players report to the newly-named Quest Diagnostics Training Center for the beginning of training camp.
The only unsigned Giants' draft pick is fourth-rounder Ryan Nassib, the quarterback who was Pugh's college teammate at Syracuse University.
The Pugh signing is good news for the Giants. The off-season has been spent discussing the probability that Pugh would battle with incumbent David Diehl and third-year player James Brewer for the right tackle job. Getting to camp on Day 1 gives Pugh his best opportunity to prove he deserves the job. Pugh could also see some time during training camp at left guard. Left guard Kevin Boothe also functions as the Giants' backup center.
The first practice of training camp will be held Saturday afternoon. Practices are open to the public.
