Laron Scott in a tough situation with the New York Giants as a young cornerback trying to make a squad filled with veterans who play his position. Let's take a closer look at Scott as we continue our player-by-player breakdown of the 90-man roster the Giants will bring to training camp just a few days from now.
2012 Season In Review
The Giants picked up Scott during the 2012 preseason and eventually signed him to their practice squad, where he remained for the entire season.
2013 Outlook
Scott is a 5-foot-9, 184-pound corner with kickoff return skills who faces an uphill climb to make the roster at a position stocked with veteran players. At Georgia Southern, Scott had 12 interceptions in three seasons and averaged 27.5 yards on 83 kickoff returns. He will have to make a splash during training camp or the preseason to make the 53-man roster, and might be able to do so as a kickoff returner if given the opportunity. A second straight trip to the practice squad is not out of the question.
