Today is Thursday, and that means the media has access to watch the New York Giants go through their on-field OTA at the Timex Performance Center and talk to players and coaches afterwards.
Yours truly is not in attendance as I am still not cleared to travel post-surgery. That changes next week when the team holds mandatory mini-camp and I have already made my plans to be in New Jersey for all three days of practice.
What interesting nuggets will come out of today's workouts? How will the linebackers line up? Who gets most of Jason Pierre-Paul's snaps? Without Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz how will the wide receivers look? We will find out soon enough. Use this as an Open Thread to discuss the workout. I will be dropping in informative tweets from reporters in attendance, and we will likely have some posts for you later today once transcripts become available.
[UPDATE 11:04 AM EDT]
As expected, Kiwi is lining up at DE in place of JPP.

[UPDATE 11:08 AM EDT]
Don't see Nicks or Cruz at voluntary OTA today. Status quo.

[UPDATE 11:27 AM EDT]
Brewer, Diehl, Cordle, Boothe, & Beatty form the O-Line. #NYG #Giants
— Tony Williams (@TBone8) June 6, 2013
From this note, where Diehl seems to be at right guard and Brewer at right tackle, it looks like the Giants are experimenting with combinations. Brewer lined up a lot at right guard the first couple of weeks of OTAs.
[UPDATE 11:31 AM EDT]
Interesting. Aaron Ross lining up at first team nickel over Hosley. But it's early so don't jump to conclusions.

[UPDATE 11:47 AM EDT]
In 7 on 7, Mark Herzlich picks off Eli Manning over middle. Herzlich is starting again with first team at MLB
— Ohm Youngmisuk (@NotoriousOHM) June 6, 2013
I am starting to believe that the Giants actually do see Herzlich as their starting middle linebacker. He has been with the first unit during every OTA media has had access to.
1st nominee 4 #NYG breakout candidates, OTA edition: Mark Herzlich ... not giving away that starting MLB job just yet. Playing a lot faster

[NUPDATE 11:52 AM EDT]
Good news. Jacquian Williams was just a part of the nick defense on a 7-7 play. Ran well.

[UPDATE 12:20 PM EDT]
RB Mike Cox has had two impressive runs in red zone drills

Practice is now over. We will wait on transcripts.@BigTimeHank having quite an OTA today. Working with 3rd tm, Hankins dominating inside + drawing two obvious holds to keep him at line #nyh
