Giants Roster Breakdown: Larry Donnell

Larry Donnell spent last season on the Giants' practice squad. He is competing to at least reprise that role again this season.

As we continue our player-by-player analysis of the 90-man roster the New York Giants will bring to training camp in late July we turn our attention to young tight end Larry Donnell, who is fighting for a chance to stick around at what looks like a crowded position.

2012 Season In Review

Donnell made it through the preseason with the Giants in 2012, was waived and then quickly signed to the practice squad. He spent the entire season there.

2013 Outlook

Donnell, 6-foot-6, 269 pounds, hardly ever gets mentioned among the plethora of tight ends on the current roster. Donnell is fighting for a roster spot on a team that already has Brandon Myers, Bear Pascoe and Adrien Robinson. In terms of a return to the practice squad he is competing with Chase Clement, who got some attention from the coaching staff earlier in the offseason, and Jamie Childers, who flasted some pass-catching acumen during mini-camp.
