Giants Roster Breakdown: David Buehler

We continue our look at the 90-man roster the New York Giants will bring to training camp by discussing placekicker David Buehler, formerly with the Dallas Cowboys.

2012 Season In Review

Buehler was out of football in 2012. He was released after the 2011 season by the Dallas Cowboys after spending three seasons there. He kicked field goals only during the 2010 season, going 24-of-32 (75 percent) and making 4-of-6 from beyond 50 yards. He was only 4-of-7 from 30-39 yards and 8-of-11 from 40-49 yards. Buehler was primarily a kickoff specialist during his time with the Cowboys.

2013 Outlook

Buehler will, theoretically, provide competition for Josh Brown as the Giants' placekicker. The 10-year veteran Brown would appear to be the clear front-runner, however. The Giants have not brought multiple kickers to training camp in recent years, so it's fair to wonder if Buehler will still be on the roster when that begins.
