Good morning, New York Giants' fans! Here are your morning links. Truth be told, there aren't a whole lot of stories out there we haven't already brought you here at Big Blue View.
Former Syracuse teammates Justin Pugh, Ryan Nassib lift each other while with NY Giants - NY Daily News
After four years together at Syracuse, tackle Justin Pugh and quarterback Ryan Nassib just can’t seem to get away from each other.
Herzlich hopes 2013 is breakthrough year - Giants Blog - ESPN New York
"This is an unbelievable opportunity, just to have the opportunity to break into the starting role," Herzlich said. "And the rest is on me -- whether I perform well enough and do well enough and study well enough to get that job."
New Giants backup safety Ryan Mundy brings a championship pedigree - NYPOST.com
Ryan Mundy knows what it’s like to play for a Super Bowl champion and back up one of the best safeties in the NFL. So his transition from the Steelers to the Giants shouldn’t be that...
A Thought on Vonta Leach
Sam wrote Tuesday night about the Giants expressing interest in three-time Pro Bowl fullback Vonta Leach, who was released by the Baltimore Ravens. Most likely the Giants were just doing their due diligence with Henry Hynoski out. I said this on Twitter (@bigblueview) several times Tuesday night, but there is no way Leach comes to the Giants.
Leach refused to restructure his contract to stay with the Ravens. The Giants have only a little more than $3 million in cap space and still have to sign Victor Cruz. The Miami Dolphins, where Leach is visiting today, have $17 million in cap space. That's really all you need to know.
Of course there is also the Hynoski factor. If Hynoski is back by the beginning of the season, or close to that, what do you do with two fullbacks? One of them would have to go. Leach won't come to a team to be a temporary fill-in.
