Ernie Palladino: Giants’ Victor Cruz Should Sign On The Dotted Line " CBS New York

It’s his right to look for more money. But it’s Cruz’s duty to sign a new deal — one that will make him a genuinely rich man even if it doesn’t top the NFL salary charts — in due time.

The next three months are going to fly by. Getting their star wide receiver under contract sooner rather than later will only benefit the Giants, and take the heat off a kid whose public statements indicate that he wants nothing more than to stick with New York anyway.

He should sign on the dotted line.

Stapleton: Victor Cruz, Giants will settle -

Victor Cruz isn't going anywhere.

Even in the worst-case scenario for the franchise and fans of the Salsa-dancing Paterson native, if the Giants get their way – and right now that appears inevitable – Cruz will not be free to join a new team until 2014, at the earliest.

And at this point, the path to a destination other than East Rutherford seems far too risky a road for the record-setting wide receiver to travel down.
