The New York Giants signed a pair of players Wednesday night, former Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Kyle Bosworth and undrafted free agent tight end Chase Clement, who played collegiately at LSU. Both players took to Twitter to announce the moves.

The signing of Bosworth, 26, adds depth and competition to the linebacking group. The nephew of former NFL player Brian Bosworth spent the first two years of his career with the Jaguars. He started five games last season and had 37 tackles, an interception and a pass defensed.

The move is reminiscent a bit of the Giants signing of Stevie Brown a year ago after Brown had stints with the Oakland Raiders and Indianapolis Colts without getting a full opportunity.

The signing of Clement is also an interesting one. Various reports indicated that the 6-foot-5, 265-pound Clement had been expected to sign with the team prior to rookie mini-camp, but failed his physical. He is reported to be an excellent blocker and special teams player, and there was some speculation on Twitter Wednesday night that Clement could be an option to convert to fullback in the absence of Henry Hynoski. At the least, he provides depth and competition at tight end while Bear Pascoe fills in for the injured Hynoski.

The Giants have until 4 p.m. ET today to release two players to make room for Bosworth and Clement.
