The New York Giants are still putting together the list of players who will the team's seven draft picks and veteran eligibles at rookie mini-camp May 10-11. Ralph Vacchiano of the Daily News has a solid list of players invited, including those who are "signed" as undrafted free agents and several players who are being invited to the mini-camp on a "tryout" basis. Tryout players do not take roster spaces unless they are signed after mini-camp.
According to Vacchiano the Giants have room for only six "signed" players. These signings/tryouts can often be somewhat murky, though, so we may not know exactly who is "signed" and who is a "tryout" player for a while.
Among the "signed" players the new name on Vacchiano's list is Louisville running back Jeremy Wright. Wright is a 5-foot-11, 205-pound back who had another year of eligibility remaining at Louisville, but declared for the NFL Draft nonetheless. Obviously, he was bypassed during the draft.
Wright gained 824 yards for the Cardinals last season on 211 carries (3.9 yards per carry) and scored 10 touchdowns. He also showed versatility with 41 receptions. He also has experience returning kickoffs, having averaged 25 yards per return on 40 attempts at Louisville
