2013 NFL Free Agency: It's tampering time

A 2013 NFL Free Agency primer for the New York Giants with the newly-created 'tampering window' now open. No contracts can be signed until Tuesday.

Wait! What? Tampering? Yes, if you missed it the NFL has created a legal tampering window prior to the start of the 2013 NFL Free Agency period on Tuesday. That began at midnight and extends through Monday night.

Here are all the details on how the tampering window works.

UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS

G Kevin Boothe -- It seems likely Boothe will test the market.
TE Martellus Bennett -- Giants seem to want him back, but won't break the bank.
DE Osi Umenyiora -- Likely to leave for starting job..
S Kenny Phillips -- Seems headed to the market.
LB Chase Blackburn -- Will test the market. Will anyone want him?
LB Keith Rivers -- An interesting case. Good player when healthy.
K Lawrence Tynes -- It seems unlikely Tynes will return.
DT Rocky Bernard -- With Shaun Rogers re-signed, unlikely to be back.
WR Domenik Hixon -- Could be a market for him.
WR Ramses Barden -- Ready to move on, which is probably a good idea.
QB David Carr -- Will test market to see if he can find playing time.
TE Travis Beckum -- See ya.
T Sean Locklear -- Knee injury clouds his future.
CB Justin Tryon -- Giants will let him hit the market.
RB Kregg Lumpkin -- Giants will let him look elsewhere.
CB Brian Witherspoon -- Has missed two seasons with ACL injuries.
