2013 NFL Season: New York Giants to add alternate uniforms

The New York Giants will wear white pants as an alternate uniform in 2013, the first time since 1999 they have utilized white pants.

Richard Mackson-US PRESSWIRE

Alternate uniforms are coming for the New York Giants in 2013. Don't worry, it's not the red uniforms from just a few years ago.

The Giants will be wearing their white pants with the red and blue stripes down the side with their blue uniforms, a style that hasn't been seen from them since the late 1990's.

The white pants will have a red stripe bordered by gray and blue stripes. The last time the Giants wore these pants was in 1999, the last year before they made big uniform changes including ditching their all white road uniforms and changing the helmet from "GIANTS" to the "NY" logo.

The last time the Giants wore alternate uniforms was back in 2004 when they wore the red jerseys. I along with a handful of others wasn't a fan of these. The Giants are nicknamed "Big Blue" for a reason, and there was nothing blue about those uniforms.

I'm personally a huge fan of the uniforms from the 1990's like in the photo above. I like the white pants with the blue jersey that have the red stripes and the helmet with the "GIANTS" logo. I'd like to one day see the Giants bring back that uniform as a throwback for a game or two. The white pants for now are close enough.

So, I ask you this: What do you think of the white pants alternate uniform? Yay or nay?
