8:46 p.m.: You can stop worrying about Cruz to the Colts, Giants' fans.

1:46 p.m.: The Indianapolis Star thinks the wide receiver Irsay is all fired up about is Doug Baldwin of the Seattle Seahawks, not Victor Cruz.

The Internet is on fire today with wild speculation about a potential trade by the New York Giants of restricted free agent wide receiver Victor Cruz to the Indianapolis Colts.

Well, everybody just relax for a second. All of this speculation has been stirred up by a series of cryptic tweets from Colts' owner Jim Irsay -- tweets that never mention Cruz or the Giants, but hint at a whopper of a trade for a wide receiver. Our friends at SB Nation's Colts web site, Stampede Blue, have all of Irsay's chatter. If you have to see it, go there. I'm not going to repeat it.

While you are reading all the Internet speculation, and fanning the flames of panic among Giants' fans, realize one thing. Not one credible source has caught wind of any of this. Not Adam Schefter of ESPN. Not Jay Glazer of FOX. Not Albert Breer or Jason LaCanfora from NFL Network. Not Mike Garafolo of USA Today. Not any of the plethora of outstanding beat writers.

There might be something to all of Irsay's chatter, and there might not. It might involve Cruz. It might not. When a credible source of NFL information reports that there is actually something going on here that is when this becomes a story for Giants' fans to be concerned about -- not until then.

How the Colts would pull this off I have no idea. They already have no second-round pick this April. Do they really want o also surrender their first-rounder?

For now, I just look at this as an excited, overzealous owner with an active Twitter account doing what he can to excite his fan base.
