If the 2014 NFL Draft were held today the New York Giants would have the 12th overall selection. The Giants are one of four teams with 5-8 records, but the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans would each pick in front of New York based on strength of schedule.

What could the Giants do with the 12th overall selection? Well, the top 100 2014 NFL Draft prospects list from Dan Kadar of SB Nation NFL Mock Draft might offer you some ideas.

The 12th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft was cornerback D.J. Hayden, who went to the Oakland Raiders. He played eight games before being lost for the season due to injury.

The Giants have not drafted any higher than 15th in the draft since 2004 when they took quarterback Philip Rivers and traded him to the San Diego Chargers for Eli Manning.

Here is the current draft order, up to and including the Giants' selection:

1. Houston Texans - 2-11 (.553)
2. St. Louis Rams (via Washington Redskins) - 3-10 (.522)
3. Atlanta Falcons- 3-10 (.558)
4. Minnesota Vikings - 3-9-1 (.527)
5. Jacksonville Jaguars 4-9 (.490)
6. Cleveland Browns 4-9 (.517) (3-7 conference record)
7. Oakland Raiders 4-9 (.517) (4-5 conference record)
8. Buffalo Bills - 4-9 (.534)
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 4-9 (.572)
10. Pittsburgh Steelers - 5-8 (.483)
11. Tennessee Titans - 5-8 (.495)
12. New York Giants - 5-8 (.539)
