What's up with RGIII? 49ers' Brooks says he shouldn't be playing

Everybody has an opinion on what is going on with Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin

What is going on with Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins? We know the Redskins are 3-8, we know RGIII hasn't played or moved as well this season following last year's devastating knee injury, and we've heard plenty about a possible rift between Griffin and head coach Mike Shanahan.

During his weekly radio appearance on WFAN Antrel Rolle of the New York Giants got a chance to take a break from his team's troubles and talk about Griffin.

"Is he as elusive as he was the year before? No, he's not," Rolle said. "But at the same time, he still has a cannon for an arm. He still can make each and every throw.

"A lot of teams have been getting after him a whole lot better this year for whatever reason. I don't know if it's he can't escape the way he used to escape or his line isn't holding up.

"I just know he has been getting hit. He's been getting sacked a whole lot more than we're used to seeing."

Griffin has been sacked 26 times for 230 yards in losses thru 11 games. Last season he was sacked 30 times on the season for only 217 yards in losses.

After sacking him twice Monday Ahmad Brooks of the 49ers said he doesn't think Griffin should be playing.

"He's a man. He has the heart of a warrior and is going to go out there and play regardless of the circumstance," Brooks said. "Everybody can see it. Everybody can see it. He shouldn't be playing."

Griffin is playing, though, and this great piece of work from The Big Lead makes you wonder if some of his teammates aren't exactly feeling the love for RGIII. Scroll thru the post and you see it -- Griffin is sacked over and over, and each time his offensive linemen just walk away without lifting a finger to help him up.

Something about that just isn't right.
