Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, who revealed a mysterious abdominal injury during the week, will not play Sunday for the New York Giants when they face the Dallas Cowboys in a critical NFC East game. Nicks has been declared inactive.
The complete list of inactives for the Giants is as follows:
Nicks (abdomen), CB Corey Webster (groin/ankle), QB Ryan Nassib, OL Dallas Reynolds, DT Markus Kuhn, TE Adrien Robinson, RB Peyton Hillis.
Nicks, who has 42 catches for the Giants this season, can be a free agent at the end of the season. During his five-year career Nicks has never played in all 16 regular-season games.
Nicks missed practice on Wednesday and practiced on a limited basis both Thursday and Friday.
Rueben Randle (29 catches, 6 TDs) will likely start in Nicks' place, with Jerrel Jernigan and Louis Murphy Jr. seeing increased playing time in three- and four-wide receiver packages for the Giants.
