[Note by Ed Valentine, 10/16/13 3:04 PM EDT: Freeman has now reportedly been named Monday's starter.]
The Minnesota Vikings, desperately seeking some quality quarterback play, reportedly hope to turnover the reigns to recently-signed Josh Freeman Monday night vs. the New York Giants.
Source: If the #Vikings can get Josh Freeman ready to go this week, prepared with their plays to their satisfaction, he'll be the starter.

Vikings don't want to put Josh Freeman out there when he's not ready, however. If they can't get him prepared, Christian Ponder will start

The 1-4 Vikings have tried both Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel. Now they hope to turn to the 25-year-old Freeman, released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this season due to both poor play and differences with Bucs coach Greg Schiano. Freeman was a first-round pick by the Bucs in 2009 (17th overall). After a promising 2010 season, his play deteriorated.
Here is a look at the 2013 stats for all three Minnesota quarterbacks.
Thoughts, Giants' fans? Does the possibility of Freeman playing concern you?
