The 2013 NFL Draft is more than four months away and the draft process -- all-star games, the Combine, pre-draft workouts and the rest -- has yet to really begin. We don't even know which underclassmen will be declaring for the April draft.
Speculation, and mock drafts, are in full swing, however. A few recent mock draft selections for the New York Giants are listed below. There is, as you will see, an obvious trend for defense -- which, to be honest, is as it should be. The other obvious trend you see is that -- at least right now -- the thought that the Giants would use a first-round pick to re-stock their stable of pass-rushing defensive ends is shared by many.
SB Nation -- Barkevious Mingo, DE, LSU
"The LSU junior fits the mold of what general manager Jerry Reese looks for in first-round picks. He's a high level talent with good size and can make an impact. Mingo would be best served by being eased into the NFL as a pass rush specialist. Given New York's woes in that area this season, Mingo could become next season's Aldon Smith."
FOX Sports (Schrager) -- Damontre Moore, Defensive End, Texas A&M
Walter Football -- Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU
National Football Post -- Ezekial Ansah, DE, BYU
Draft Tek -- Eric Reid, FS, LSU
Football's Future -- Alec Ogletree, LB, Georgia
CBS Sports (Rang) -- Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
CBS Sports (Brugler) -- Ezekial Ansah, DE, BYU
