NFL Playoff Schedule 2013: Divisional round bandwagon picks

New, comments

The divisional round of the 2013 NFL Playoffs begins Saturday. Kelsey O'Donnell breaks down which teams you should be rooting for.

Last week I made my bandwagon picks for the Wild-card Round of the 2013 NFL Playoffs. Two of those picks (Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks) won their games and are through to the Divisional Round. Here are the teams I am rooting for this weekend to make it to Championship Sunday.

[Kelsey's Predictions | Ed's Predictions]

Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos
Saturday, 4:30 p.m. on CBS

The Ravens defeated the Indianapolis Colts 24-9 to move onto the next round. They face a well rested Broncos team with Peyton Manning, who just had an MVP caliber season. For New York Giants fans, I think it's pretty easy who to root for.

Bandwagon Pick: Denver Broncos

Hey...if Eli Manning isn't around to get it done, you might as well root for Peyton.

Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers
Saturday, 8 p.m. on FOX

This one I've struggled with. It's frustrating for Giants fans to see this matchup after the Giants gave both the 49ers and Packers a pretty good beating in the regular season. I don't think Giants fans will really want to see either team win, but someone has to.

Bandwagon Pick: San Francisco 49ers

I'm basing my bandwagon pick on who won the Super Bowl last. Green Bay won it just two season ago, so let San Francisco have a shot.

Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons
Sunday, 1 p.m. on FOX

I'm surprisingly struggling with this one, too. I'd like to see Tony Gonzalez move on, but I'm still highly impressed by the Seahawks.

Bandwagon Pick: Seattle Seahawks

Russell Wilson is the last rookie quarterback standing. I'll root for him.

Houston Texans at New England Patriots
Sunday, 4:30 p.m. on CBS

This one isn't hard. The Giants have had New England's number for the last four years now, but that doesn't mean fans will want to root for them.

Bandwagon Pick: Houston Texans

Hopefully J.J. Watt will send Tom Brady running for his life.

Check back next week for my Championship Sunday bandwagon picks.
